Welcome to Shoal Bay Studio!

The studio officially opened to the public in November 2024, but getting the website up and running proved to be a somewhat more challenging task. Things improved once I enlisted the assistance of my dear cousin, Justin Randolph Joffe, and launch day finally came.

The idea of writing a regular blog was Justin’s and was a little daunting at first, but then I realised it could be quite useful and would give me a way of sharing ideas, my motivation for making certain pieces and how they were made, the story of where constituent parts came from, and so on. I love writing and have been threatening to write a book for years but alas have not yet been disciplined enough to carve out the space to do so, and so this blog might just provide the impetus that I need – and so now I feel quite excited about it.
