Goroka Sing-Sing Men, Papua New Guinea
I attended the annual sing-sing festival in PNG in the early 2000s where clans from all over the country gather to sing and dance, wearing their traditional costumes, headdresses and jewellery in celebration of their culture. It is a feast for the eye, the colours, shapes and textures of all sorts of natural materials, including rafia, possum fur, feathers, leaves, shell - many prized for their magico-medicinal value.
