Birchmore Chain Of Lagoons
Broken limbs of River Red Gums can be seen crossing each other with a play of light and shadow on the reflective silvery surface of the still water of this ephemeral lagoon. Located in the Cygnet River valley and the lowland lagoonal plains area, the Birchmore Chain of Lagoons floods during the wet season and attracts many bird species including wood ducks, white-faced herons and spoonbilled ibis. Frogs also abound and their calls can be cacophonous at night.
