Buksie Kruiper
Buksie Kruiper was one of the last master trackers and medicine men of the South African Kalahari Bushmen. He learnt to track and hunt as a young boy as he moved with his family clan across the dunes and plains between South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. This photo was taken on a trip into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park with some tourists wanting to witness his tracking skills. He is smoking tobacco and medicinal herbs packed into a sheep bone. He was a very sweet soul and used to make beautiful art, burning traces of the animals he so loved onto bones to sell to travelers to these part.
