While African elephants are very large, they are somehow able to merge into the landscape and be very hard to detect. It is perhaps their muted colouration that gives them this advantage, and at times they can simply look like big rocks! While this small group were breaking the skyline, their mass was still somewhat indistinct in the misty early morning.
