Toppies & Tiena
Toppies and Tiena Kruiper were trackers and medicine people, son of the traditional leader of the Khomani San, Oupa Dawid Kruiper, and daughter of his great aunt, Ouma Anna Kruiper, respectively. This photo is taken outside the grass hut they lived in for a while on the farm “Witdraai’, South of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park near the border with Botswana and Namibia. This photograph captures their beautiful spirits and their ability to be joyful while living lives of great hardship and experiencing great injustice.
